Teaching Learning Mathematics Through English

 English and Mathematics are important courses in the school. They are important because they are needed by people in a life. Both of the course are used to communicate one person to others.
 First, we talk about mathematics. What do you think if you heard ‘Mathematics’? Do you imagine numbers, symbols or trigonometry? It’s no matter, if you don’t like mathematics. Here, we don’t talk about the content of mathematics, but we talk about mathematics communication and mathematics teaching.
Mathematics is mother of sience. Basic of the sience is mathematics. Almost sience use mathematics like physics, chemistry, and computer. They use mathematics for calculate number or just  for symbolize something. For example, to calculate how fast the speed of motorcycle, physicist use mathematics. In today's world, this includes quite a bit of scientific information. Being able to read through it and make sense of it requires knowing big and small numbers, statistics, probability, percents.
In a dictionary, mathematics is the study of the measurement, properties, and relationships of quantities and sets, using numbers and symbols. Based on the definition of mathematics, it can be said that mathematics is a communication symbol. Symbols in mathematics are universal. Most of people know the meaning of the symbol, especially symbol of numbers and their operations. Because of universal character, the symbols can be understand by people wherever and whenever. It’s mean that mathematics can communicate people in different country and different language.
Every person know the meaning of the symbols in mathematics. They can solve problems use mathematic symbols fluently. It’s happen if they had studied mathematics. Before they studied mathematics they did not know what symbols for. Because of it, they learn about mathematics world. They can’t learn mathematics lonely. They need teacher. The teacher teach them all about mathematics.
Mathematics teacher teach their student with ordinary language. Commonly, the teacher and the students use same language, so they can understand each other. Language is an important thing in teaching activity.  Language is the main factor of teaching. Teaching activity can be called successful, if the student can solve problems that given to them or can teach to other person.
After we know the important of language in teaching activity, then we must know what the language that use in the international communication. The international language is english. English is universal language. All people must use this language in their life, so they will up to date with the new information in the world.
One way to use english in daily activity use in teaching activity. It’s not easy. The teacher and the students use it in a conversation in the class. The mathematics teacher must not use english in all the conversation when she or he give consept of mathematics. The duty of mathematics teacher is be able to present and explain consepts of mathematics clearly and accurately.
When people use english in their education activity, there are the challanges that must be satisfied by the teacher especially mathematics teacher and the students. For the teachers, they need to know how to explain mathematical ideas and procedures in ways that will deepen learners understanding. The second, the teacher need to be prepared to answer learners’ questions about subject material which may be unfamiliar to them. The last but not least, the teacher need to widen their knowledge of math vocabulary and its pronunciation.
The challenges for students or learners, most teachers do not know how long learners will take to do tasks, complete worksheets or understand instructions and explanations until they used materials for the first year. Learners are all different, some need support in order to understand subject concepts, while some need more support to communicate ideas about subjecr concepts. So the teachers must differentiate input, task, and support each students.

2. Jarak antara Titik dan Garis     Gaes apakah kalian tahu proses pembangunan rumah di daerahmu? Jika di  daerah Banyumas dalam pembuatan rumah dimulai dari pondasi, tembok dan terakhir atap rumah. Jarak Antara Dua Titik pada Dimensi Tiga

  DIMENSI TIGA Hai Gaes, kalian udah sering denger ruang dimensi tiga kan?  Menurut kalian ruang dimensi tiga itu apa? Dimensi tiga disebut juga dengan Trimatara , merupakan  konsep matematika yang menjelaskan ruang di sekitar kita yang memiliki tiga dimensi: panjang , lebar , dan tinggi .
